Sad news regarding Bryan Smith

It is with deep regret that Grantham Chess Club has learnt of the sad passing of former member Bryan Smith who has died of a heart attack at 52 years of age. Bryan played regularly for the Grantham 2nd team in his time as a member and was an active club player.

The funeral is at Grantham Crematorium on Wednesday 20th of at 11.45 and all members of the Club have been invited to attend by the family.

Chess Club to remain open during the summer

At the chess club's Annual General Meeting, it was decided that there was enough interest from members to allow the club to stay open this summer rather than shut down until September. This is also made possible with the generous support of the Grantham Electric Club.
