International Games Day Event Poster

International Games Day at Grantham Library on the 15th of November

Saturday the 15th of November is International Games Day. As part of the events, members from Grantham Chess Club will be at Grantham Library between 9am and 3pm.

The aim is to get libraries across the world involved, by holding or hosting game related activities on that day.  The event will promote the idea that libraries are about more than just books.   It would also promote the educational and social value of games.  The library is well placed as a Community institution that is welcoming to everyone to hold an event where people, families included can come to play together.

Please come along and support this event. We are also looking for members who could give up even an hour or two on the day so that we can promote the club and play some social chess.

Nottinghamshire County Champonships

As the Grantham club plays in the Nottinghamshire League, players are eligible to compete in the Nottinghamshire County Championship. This year the event takes place over the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of November 2014 at the Nottingham High School. There are various sections available and the entry form can be found here

2014 Lincolnshire Championships

2014 Summer Closure Dates

Following the Annual General Meeting, it was decided that the club will be taking a summer break this year. Therefore, we will be closed from Wednesday 2nd of July and reopen on Wednesday 27th of August 2014 ready for the start of the new season.
